Information overload coming, and a forewarning that I am not very good at relaying medical stuff š¬
First off, we went in for blood work this morning since Taylor was looking jaundice last night. I never did hear back from a nurse or anything, but a couple meds were called in for Taylor that we went and picked upā¦. Iām not real sure what they are for, but it must be something sheās low in. Iām going to ask about it.
Secondly, since we are all holding our breath over this, that nodule looks like itās NOT cancerous! Itās got fibrous tissues in it, which is whatās starting to happen to her liver. What I understood was that itās maybe more condensed in that spot. I didnāt know it was possible to hold my breath for 5 days straight, but I think I was doing just that!! Iām breathing so much easier now!! Her liver from the test has āpatchy mild fibrosisā so they would like to fix the blood flow issue, so that her liver doesnāt become more damaged. Once it has the fibrosis the liver canāt really come back from that. Since her liver is somewhat healthy they want to fix things before it gets worseā¦ SO on December 16th they are doing to do a venagram procedure to check the vein going through her liver (to see if all of it is healthy enough to do what they plan to do) and check her jugular veins in her neck. I asked what all this procedure involves and I didnāt understandā¦ but she will be sedated for it. They will also do pressure measurements to see if the surgery Iām going to explain next will help. If all looks well, she will have a Rex Shunt surgery. They will take one of her jugular veins from her neck, and then run that through her liver. This will get the blood going through her liver again, and get the blood to her heart in a safe way! So thatās the plan for now. I hope I explained that correctly, I will post updates as things happen, and Iām sure I will understand it better as the procedures are done. Thank you for standing in the gap for our little miss šš
