Our good father
*these two pictures are of Taylor when she was tiny. One of me with her, and one of Randy with her. We love her so much and want to shield her from all the hurt, I thought these pictures conveyed that the best*
Taylor keeps asking me “is the surgery going to hurt?” I tell her, it will, and I’m so sorry she has to get it, but it will make her better, so she has have it. She understands that, and she doesn’t want to have scopes and bands or bleeds anymore (or IVs, she hates those IVs, lol), which will keep happening until they can fix it… but it makes her very nervous (if you could pray about that we would appreciate it). Today in church our pastor said that we as parents want to give our children the best! Sometimes we have to say no, because we have something even better for them. Just like with Taylor, I don’t want to have to watch her go through pain, but she has to go through this pain and surgery for her good- so that she can get better. God wants the best for us too. He could take this away from Taylor and us, but he hasn’t. It hurts, and he doesn’t like to watch us hurt. He loves us so much!! Infinitely more than we love our own children. He is not taking this away, and we don’t understand why this is happening… but I do know, He is a GOOD good Father. He has great and unsearchable things in store for us (Jeremiah 33:3). I read once that our life is like a tapestry. The back looks like a mess, and we don’t understand what the picture is. But when you turn it around, it’s beautiful. God is writing our story. We don’t understand why this is happening, it’s messy and really hard, but we do know, he’s writing something so beautiful. Someday, and maybe not till Heaven, we will see the full picture, and it will be stunning.
Is 43:2 When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.
John 14:1-4 “Your heart must not be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if not, I would have told you. I am going away to prepare a place for you. If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also. You know the way to where I am going.” Maranatha!
